Clinical Supervision

Supervision Goal

The goal of clinical supervision at Bala Empowerment is to support supervisees in navigating complex cases, strengthening clinical skills, and cultivating compassionate, ethical practices that promote professional growth and long-term success.

Clinical Supervision for Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSW)

Bala Empowerment offers board-approved clinical supervision for Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSWs) in Maryland. Supervision is designed to foster professional development while helping clinicians build the skills necessary to provide effective, ethical, and compassionate care.

Supervision emphasizes core social work competencies, including ethical and professional practice, engagement with diversity, and the advancement of human rights and social justice. Supervisees receive guidance in clinical decision-making, case conceptualization, and licensure preparation strategies to support their progression toward independent practice.

As a Board-Approved Supervisor, Bala Empowerment provides the full 100 hours of clinical supervision required for licensure and offers consistent support throughout the licensure process until independent licensure is achieved. The supervision relationship is grounded in warmth, collaboration, and respect, helping clinicians build confidence as they advance in their professional journey.

Clinical Supervision for Licensed Graduate Counselors (LGPC)

As a non-LCPC Board-Approved Supervisor, Bala Empowerment provides LGPCs with up to 50 hours of clinical supervision toward licensure. Once LCPC supervision requirements are fulfilled, ongoing supervision and professional support remain available to ensure continuity, growth, and guidance throughout the licensure journey.
